I placed the below ad a bit more than a week ago, and had some interesting results. These included a few nasty but amusing notes, a lot of notes from guys who obviously replied to every girl on CL, notes from men who obviously had not read the ad, no indian dating in Reading Pennsylvania, Los Ybanez TX, Lourdes de Blanc Sablon Quebec, Mullan ID, Hazel Kentucky, Ledyard Connecticut tes from men who look like my grandfather, and a lot of replies from guys with really bad shirts (you know the style �muted colors, kind of an abstract leaf or flower pattern, short sleeve, tucked in button up cotton shirt that every middle aged guy seems to wear with khakis. *shudder*). I also received some replies from a few people I could see being friends with and who I am meetinghave met.
So I got to thinking that maybe the RIGHT guy just didn�t see the ad, so here it is again, slightly edited:
I�m tired of dating younger guys, but apparently I am looking for a needle in a haystack when I start looking to date men closer to my age. I am x, look, act and feel x. I have young tastes for my age � enjoy going to shows and keep up with indiealternativepunkgaragealt country types of music scenes. I�m not at all into metal, rap, dance clubs, contemporary country or psychobilly and those scenes. I am much more SXSW than ACL. more Pitchfork than Lolapalooza - and if that means nothing to you then you're probably not the guy I'm looking for. I�m well versed in and equal parts of hipster, nerd, dork and quirky alone. Most of my friends are younger, and recent ltr�s (over a year each) have been with men up to x years my junior. The problem with this is that eventually these younger guys decide they want to date a girl younger then themselves, often because they want to be open to the possibility of having .
So I have begun to look more at men in the x-x range� not easy in Austin where the average age is x. What I am finding is that men my age either:
x. do not want women my age, or
x. are married, or
x. have chemical dependencies (I include smoking or booze in this catagory - an occasional cig or weekly drinking is ok, it's the dependency that is not), or
x. have long since lost their �cool� and are now republican churchgoers who golf, or wear bad shirts andor have mullets, or
x. want an outdoorsy type of woman, which I am not, or
x. are too busy with their ren from a previous marriage, or
x. are stuck in their past � meaning they are still dressing like and listening to stuff that they did in high school or college. I may be a grown up punk girl with quite the r&r pedigree if I may say so myself, but I have long since gotten a decent job and a somewhat normal hair color and decided that you don�t have to have a certain style to enjoy a certain type of music.
So I am at an impass. If you, or anyone you know, is a single x+ (or even x+) grown up skater guy who also looks and dresses younger than his age, probably used to be in a band in the xsearly xs (and maybe still is!), has a day job, has time to date, still likes to go see shows, jeans and tees and chucks, doesn�t need to date a model, still loves Husker and Replacements and Minutemen but whose music taste doesn't stop with (or even !), then PLEASE get in touch with this short, cute, chunky (not hwp but very far from obese), spirited, redhead with short hair and big green eyes.
